Fun Run... or.. Fun Walk

Hee.. What an achievement! I actually signed up for a walkathon! Although it's nothing much but oh well, i actually dragged myself out of bed early in the morning to go to a park for a walkathon!

Went West Coast Park together with some others. Nice place. My first time at West Coast Park... got a nice big field, some paths, and a "playground". Playground a bit like Pasir Ris one with a structure to climb, those things that u sit on and move from one end to the other, etc etc.. Nice nice...

Anyway, back to the walk. It's 2.4km fun run. But from the start, i already said i dun wanna run. Most of us didn't wanna run too. So we walked! We were the very last group to start. Then we decided to not be the last throughout. So M and I started having short-term goals: to overtake XX. We picked aunties, ah mas, teenagers, blah blah blah, in front of us as targets to overtake.. Then slowly, we inched forward and got somewhere in the middle... *grin*

Quite happy with the goodie bag.. Paid 3 bucks for the walk and I got a shoe bag, tshirt, axe brand medicated oil, mcdonald's watch, bowling voucher... Just nice.. I settled my shoebag and medicated oil for my uk trip for just 3 bucks.. Muahahaha...

Oh.. Got this damn cute angmoh baby girl!! So cute!! Nice blue eyes, then smiled at us! Anyway, i old liao.. after the walk and a slight shopping trip, I totally collapsed on the mrt. Was sleeping soundly. Even had to set my hp on alarm at jurong to make sure i dun miss my stop..

Next time can go West Coast Park again... nice nice....

hmm... i couldn't really think of anything to write.. almost didn't wanna write, but i recalled my trip to chinatown, so shall share....

went chinatown with yj. we ate the famous yong tau hu at old people's park. i also intro to her very very good handmade mini buns.. i like those with red bean paste..

went with her to travel agents to ask abt her air ticket price.. went to my travel agent to ask.. their price quite low and cheaper than the other one we asked.. so decided to buy from them. We got served by the same indian guy.. then yj mentioned that i bought my air ticket from them too.. the guy then mentioned he recognize me. He could even remember that my mom brought me there again to ask some questions, where my mum was sitted, where i was sitting, and where my dad was!!! and he remembered where i was going and wat airways... wow!!! wat good memory! is this what you call good service? i dunno... he remembered yz too.. hahah. i just thot he was quite amazing... ah well.. though it's a small agency with few staff and u got to wait sometimes if it's crowded, it's still a friendly place...

Idol finals...

just finished watching the finals.... dunno why but i didn't think very highly of the finals.. don't feel a surge of power or excitement after watching the show... maybe it's because each of them had a not-so-good song... so it wasn't all that perfect in a way..

seriously, i dunno who would win... can't tell.. it's not all about singing.. if it were, latoya would not be out before jasmine.. she'd have been in the top 2... from the finals, it seems that fantasia might have an upper hand cause she got to sing the last song and her last song was not bad... fantasia's bad song was the first, so pple got to warm-up to her singing. For diana, her last song was the worse, so it doesn't leave a good impact on pple... unless those voting were able to separate all these apart and view it individually...

oh well, maybe it wasn't superb for me cause i don't have a favourite too.... but one of my favourite songs is 'summertime' by fantasia..

almost forgot to say.. i went westmall last night and i saw channel u filming '全民偶像新登场’!! so cool... i actually bumped into the actual filming.. but of course it's actually quite common to see channel u around. seen them filming stuff at least 4 times liao.. so common cause a lot of their variety shows are held outdoors.. anyway, i couldn't bear to hear one contestant sing. It's a guy, who sang and played on guitar a song he composed. my god!!! his singing and his playing were off tune! you don't need to know wat his song is to know that it's off tune.. and he actually got thru the audience round!!! *faint* i almost wanted to shout from the 4th floor, 'PRESS THE BUZZER!!!' (for those who don't watch, the contestants must perform for 3 minutes. out of 50 chosen spectators, if 25 press the buzzer that means 'get off the stage', then that contestant is out)

lalalala.. one last thing... i'm going to watch harry potter on opening day!!!! yay!!! before i fly!!! hip hip hooray!!!! i won't miss the show... hahahaha... harry harry!!

went to watch shrek 2 today after my comp was ok... quite nice! i didn't watch shrek last time but i could get it lah.. wasn't too bad to watch even though i missed the first one...

so nice.. got pasar malam downstairs.. opened for 3 days liao. dunno when it'll be opened until. BUT it's very convenient for me to get food... hahaha.. just that i doubt i'll be home to need lunch or dinner on my own these few days leh...

went orchard yest for dim sum rite.. was standing on the feeder bus from my house, then got this young and cute guy standing near me... *blush* but he looks like he might be younger than me leh.. anyway, i saw him again tonight on my way home! i think he lives in my block!!! at least he walked that direction!! too bad i couldn't follow him to see cause i wanted to walk the pasar malam... cute guy!!!!!! kawaii ne!!!

Dim Sum...

yummy yummy yummy.... had a nice dimsum buffet lunch today... at least didn't choose the wrong place.. but i've eaten there before.. can't go very wrong i guess... ate until 95% full, i think. so i haven't had dinner!! all i had was a cup of kopi.. (by the way, suntec's new food court has a stall that serves kopi in traditional cup. kopi's not bad..)

ate a lot... i'm sure the rest can tell u abt it.. i had my pig's trotters in vinegar!! or more specifically, the vinegar... hahaha.. nice nice.. i can't keep track of what we ordered.. total 8 adults & 1 kid, but i think we can count the kid out... he didn't eat much.... was attempting to count.. should have ordered at least 30 'long' of dimsum and a few other main dishes...

*rubs stomach* satisfied satisfied.. can try again when i have money again...

stupid comp

i'm just going to grumble and grumble.. never liked computers.. win xp needs activation. i activated it last time.. out of the blue, it asked for activation again.. now now.. then it screws up my thing and i can't use it anymore.. so i called up microsoft. the person says to reinstall windows.. so i reinstall... and now, luckily my files are all there but i have to reinstall all my programs again....

then for the last few times, i had some problem after i log on to internet.. some problem and the system had to shut down... yay!! i hope no more problems for now.... bleah bleah bleah...

bloody hell.. i feel like cursing and swearing all kind of words and strangling the person who was the cause of my problems... after half a year of using my computer, suddenly my comp requires me to activate windows xp... then had to activate it a few times today everytime i switch on my computer!! what the crap... then after each activation, a lot of programs would have problems... it says the icon has a problem, blah blah blah.....

FINALLY! the current time i switched this comp on again to try... after restarting and restarting, it didn't require activation!! and no problem!! i hope that this is the end of my torture.... I HATE COMPUTERS!! puts me in all kinds of situations that i have no idea wat's going on!!!!! ARGH!!!

oh well, sidetrack.. at first i wanted to write abt american idol before i had to go thru all these crap!! i didn't watch the singing yest.. told ya i not watching.. but caught the last 10 mins of today's results... just in time to hear 'jasmine is out!!' yay!!! this means that diana and fantasia are in the finals!! now, i can happily watch the american idol finals liao.. at least two of them can sing...

another thing... went out with 2 grps of pple today... somehow both ended up abt conversatin about bdays and my bday... anyway, whether u get me a present or not, i dun think i'll bear a grudge or hate u for not giving me one.. but if u really really wanna give me but has no idea, can ask me.. hahahaha...

Went for this AIA recruitment talk to accompany yj there since this guy keeps asking her to go... of course i'm quite cynical to certain extent and i don't absorb much cause i'm still studying.. i dun need a job yet.. just go there and listen lor.. but there were 2 very interesting speakers.... one was this guy who had his entire right leg amputated because of tumour.. he's an agent too.. he talked abt himself and he was very optimistic.. very interesting cause he could cope so well with such a major event and stand up strong..

the other interesting speaker was this motivational speaker... throughout his talk, pple would agree with wat he says, laugh and then be more readily to accept... though i can be cynical at times, there were some interesting things that he said that i could share here....

so exciting rite... haha.. but for a short while, it's quite peaceful to the mind... just that i'll get a bit sian and go nothing to do... not in the mood to read....

read a's blog abt guy's putting more effort in chasing girls in the beginning... shall talk abt this theory that came from sec sch when someone came up with it.. not mine.. i shall not claim credit for it.... but i guess this theory mainly applies to only the traditional relationship where boy chases girl....

in a relationship, guys are like cosine graphs.. gals are like sine graphs

at the beginning of a relationship, guys start off at a peak... high with enthusiasm and determination and effort to chase the girl.. they give in all they have just to go after the girl. gals, on the other hand, are being chased so they might not have that much enthusiasm so they start abt about zero.. much lower than guys.

after getting the girl as gf and they proceed into their relationship, everything starts to settle down.. watever enthusiasm he had earlier starts to decline and decline.. for gals, they got moved by the guy and they slowly warm up into the relationship. gal will start to give more and more to the guy, becoming more and more enthu abt the guy

later in the relationship, the enthusiasm for the guy slowly dies off and might even go to negative.. (maybe this is the time all the affairs start?) at the same time the girl has given all that she has with no return...

the girl starts getting upset or feels ignored and not loved, so she starts to retract and things go downhill for the gal... she starts to give up on the relationship... then the guy starts seeing that he has taken the gal for granted and tries to put effort to keep the relationship going... but it's too late... the girl has given up hope and gone into 'negative'....

of course this theory doesn't apply to all situations.. but i always think that it's quite true in some sense to several relationships i've seen...

skating anyone?

yay!!! i went for ice skating!! so did many others!! wow.. it's such a relief from the heat now... as i'm typing this entry, i'm trying damn hard not to sweat... so different in the skating rink. the temperature is just perfect!!!

so fun so fun... though i fell once but it's still fun... now more pple know how to skate liao!! had to spend some time teaching but still got to skate around, attempt to skate backwards and such....

i wanna go again!! who's on!! we can go on wed or thurs again to enjoy the cheaper price! most prob next week though for a less crowded rink before sch hols..

(esso tiger at petrol kiosk).. the mum gives the father the eye of not playing with them so that the boy will sit down and not stand... very interesting ah.. straight away made me think of how parents usually consist of one strict and one lenient to complement... i was thinking abt which one i would be.. think that i'll be the one who would say 'here no lion or tiger' instead of playing with him... anyone else the same as me? or play with imagination instead?? (sidetrack.. the little boy can say 'satellite' and he knows wat they are!!)

haha... was talking to my guy fren yest on the phone and met him today for dinner.. but no! no electricity current between us.... i was giving him moral support and teaching him how to chase a girl... had to teach him thru the phone how to start a sms conversation, how to ask the girl out for dinner, etc... oh well, matchmaker am i... haha.... hope it will be a good date! hope that everything goes well!!!

oh... i just learnt that u can actually bargain when changing foreign currency! not all money changers but some.... went to chinatown.. think i got some ok rates lah.. the rates are going up!! damn it.... changed some of my money... bargained... but at the end, save less than 3 bucks only... haha.. watever.. 3 bucks is still money rite...

Haii... what a weather in singapore.... weeks ago, it was damn hot and humid. cloudy but damn humid... then lately it started to rain a bit here and there.. then it became 2 days of nonstop raining.. then these few days, rain until no more clouds and u see clear blue sky with a few white clouds here and there... so sunny and hot!!!! helpppppp.......

drinking cold water non stop... everyone better drink water also.... think can faint in this heat...

hot!!!! if the weather continues like that, i really can't wait to go ice skating! would be a total relief...

alma mater... i think so.. i never really know wat exactly it is and which sch i can count it as....

had lots of fun today hanging around my ex classmates.... first went to ghim moh to eat.. today's weather is so hot!!! can easily faint in the heat... and somemore went to market to eat... but sugarcane juice with lemon always does the trick!!! it has been a long time since i went to eat......

then walked to sch... finally saw the finished product of the hdb blocks at the backgate. really really nicely done.. now the blocks look really pretty instead of the old dusty construction site. walked thru the backgate, went to explore the classrooms and try to recall which were our main classroom and such. walked around the sch, went into lt2 to take photo at where we usually sat... walk around, meet pple, meet teachers, see pple of our batch, etc etc....

saw my 2 math teachers, phy teacher, and my sec4 chi teacher... took lots of photos!! think some of my classmates were thinking that i'm crazy.. i was just snapping nonstop everywhere i went.. just had to take everything that i felt that i wanna remember cause i might not see it again...

closing ceremony was at 4pm at the concourse... wow! i heard the sch song again! pple were singing it. err.. i couldn't sing it... i can't remember the lyrics anymore though i could hum the tune.. goes something like 'when stamford raffles held the torch....' hee.. can't remember liao... hahahahaha...... as usual, after sch song would be sch cheers!!! i cheered the unite cheer!! though i can't remember some words too.. but i had so much fun screaming!! it's a norm for girls to scream after 'rafflesians unite, let's show our might!' *AAAAHHHHHHHH* hahaha... i love to scream at cheers... so fun!!! screamed damn a lot at competitions last time... remember yz? hahaha... we'll scream especially loud when the opponents are on our side, with the intention of just irritating the hell out of her...

rare coincidence!

this morning, i went to sgh to meet yp. supposed to meet her then go to a pri sch and administer surveys to students.... so i went into the particular department and i got a shock! not that scary shock but just shock? surprise?

first time i went a few days ago, the place very empty. then today there was this group of pple standing around.. medical students.. and i know 3 of them!! 2 from my jc eca.. haha.. so funny.. went up to say hi, had a short chat, then i went to the office liao... came out not long after to go to the sch and saw them hanging around waiting for their turn to observe patients.... saw them again when i returned to the office...

just so interesting... didn't expect to see anyone.. and it's quite a coincidence cause i think it's a one-off thing for them to be there.. not very sure but i think they're only there for one day?? and i also not going there any other time (unless i help her with more stuff)

Caffeine (New York article)

Caffeine increases blood pressure and bp is increased by the same amount in both sexes. However, the reasons are different. In women, caffeine raise bp by increasing heart activity. So the heart pumps blood faster. In men, caffeine narrows blood vessels, so blood pressure increases.

Caffeine can increase bp and pressure will increase even further if u're already under mental stress. So, don't drink caffeine when you're under mental stress??

Rainy but not gloomy day...

Raining and raining and raining non-stop for these two days.. and sadly i have to go out these two days.. joining graham's research project.. think we'll be only involved in the pilot study and planning.. trying to see if exercise will slow down elderly's cognition. i think it's a very interesting topic... i wanna learn taichi!! haha.. doubt will learn with the elderly anyway... it's at geylang.. too far...

had a good lunch at long john's.. good day cause i didn't get super small chicken pieces... sometimes their chickens just shrink in size for god knows wat reason.. had lots of fries too!! hahaha.... so much better than arts canteen.. must complain ah.. yest i went to arts to eat chicken cutlet. it's so miserably tiny!!! one piece of cutlet instead of 2 last time.. then i can use 2 hands to count the number of fries.. the lump of coleslaw only has diameter of 3-4 cm. when i looked at it, i was thinking 'how come so small'. almost felt like asking the uncle why their food shrink so much... (yest in rebutting mood)

saw lots of kids in raincoats.. colourful raincoats.. i miss having a nice bright raincoat. they look like hunchbacks with their school bag inside and their heads leaned forward...

saw a school bus dropping kids from my kindergarten... so cute... so nice.. kindergarten is so carefree...

when i think that i'm quite a calm and patient person... i almost wanted to blow my temper today.. but i didn't... was at as6 photostating shop. 2 machines and each occupied by someone: a girl and a guy. i wanted to print some stuff... won't even take 2 mins... and i waited and waited.. i think i waited 10-15 mins. they were practically printing the entire book they had!!!! my god!!! i was so irritated i was tapping my cashcard on the table, trying to irritate them... so disgusting!!!! almost wanted to tap them and say 'hey! wat are u trying to do? photostate the whole book?? against copyright law ok' or just call the police.... damn it.....

ok.. but i didn't.. i just stomped to the counter and asked if they could use the other machine to photostate for me.. in the end, i just used the machine myself and paid in cash instead of cashcard... stupid pple... waste my time.... stupid pple.... waste my heart energy on them...

Pregnant women

Damn sianz... didn't get a seat on my bus until after the expressway... but that's not the main sian bit. i saw this woman who looked pregnant.. but i wasn't very sure leh.. can't really confirm whether she's pregnant or just had a tummy.. she wasn't in obvious maternity clothes.. so in the end, i held back and didn't give up my seat....

sianz... if she's pregnant, i'm damn bad.... if she's not, then i'm quite heng...

Beautiful Boxer

Other than the fact that the actor as the beautiful boxer is quite cute, and that there was another boxer who's quite good-looking and looks more like mixed blood, the show was good....

I think the show succeeded in telling a story... the story of the beautiful boxer, the story of the emotional pain and conflict in being a tranvestite... lots of problems, lots of obstacles.. from family and strangers.. and also from ownself... the movie wanted to tell the story and it did... there were lots of hilarious scenes in the show but it didn't make the show become a comedy... it was still real...

until i forget abt the meaning and the pain they go thru, i will not crack silly jokes or make fun of transvestites, especially those at Changi Village..

go watch if u can spare the cash.... highly recommended...

ever since sat i have suffered under the hands of my comp.. think my comp kenna that sasser virus thing... most of the time i suddenly cannot go on webpages and there'll be errors for my internet programmes saying that they can't connect to my singnet server.... finally, today was the last straw.. i asked around then downloaded this virus scan which could scan for that new virus... my virus scan couldn't do anything to it....

how to download the thing without going to webpage?? i logged on as another user on the computer and somehow i managed to get to webpage without problem.. i thank my fren who made this comp and help me create a few users... yes.. and lots of virus of the same kind.. that S virus.. all deleted now.. i hope that's the end of it.... cause for the entire weekend, sometimes my internet works, sometimes it doesn't... i hope this is permanent....

oh.. then after i got all the viruses deleted.. i couldn't connect to icq for any user!! stupid thing.. the login just hangs... and then i got to redownload a new icq, uniinstall my current one and reinstall a new one... stupid stupid stupid...

stupid computers.. sometimes waste damn a lot of time on it.. bleahhhhhhhh

ok.. i'm full.. full full... came back from chinese a-la-carte buffet dinner at new park hotel. grandma's birthday dinner... sat with my sis, 7 other cousins, auntie and mum.. there were 3 tables. our table being the "youngest" ate the most!!! muahaha... let me recall...

3. cold dish (jelly fish in sweet and sour sauce, prawns with jap mayo, fried mock goose roll, marinated octopus)
4. shark's fins soup
5. fish maw soup
6. chilli crab
7. 2 pots of drunken prawns
8. 2 plates of fried sea bass
9. steamed 'hong xun'
10. 2 plates of scallop and broccolli
11. stir-fried pacific clams with celery
12. mussels with dunno-what sauce
13. fried sotong rings with honey sauce
14. 2 plates of stir-fried squid with xo sauce
15. small small plate of venison meat (given from other table)

noticed something?? excluding venison (which wasn't ordered by us), the shou tao and the noodles (which are must-eat for bday dinner), all the other dishes are seafood-based dishes!!! hahaha... i had 16 plates of seafood!!! of course, not finished by me but... 16 plates!! we ate 18 plates of food!!! oh man.. it's even better than a 10-course dinner... muahahaha..... after years!!! i finally had crab again!!!! and sharks' fins!!! heaven!!!!!!

oh well... it's almost standard food every year. been there for a few years running for bday dinner. and our table always knows roughly what food to order.. seafood and more seafood.. why waste ur stomach on filling stuff like chicken, duck or pork!

Hai... was out in heels for abt 12 hrs.... legs are dying... luckily they're getting alive again.. hahaha...
