Over the weekend, a jap fren came over to pop by.... Pretty eh? Don't need to answer me.. Confirm 'yes'.. hahahahaha

Fairy cupcake

Baked again yesterday. Spur of the moment when I woke up.





Fairy cupcakes! Well, that's what they are called on meng's recipe book. Copied it over on my hp when he brought it for me. Instead of doing it plain, I added chocolate chips in some, cranberry in some and a mixture of both in the rest. Ok, i didn't do the pretty icing sugar bit on top. Didn't have food colouring..


Next time next time... Will make it prettier and more sellable! (meng, it's a little sweet though)

Fireworks Festival 07

I only went for Friday's fireworks. Just the day before, J managed to get tickets from his camp, so we got to sit at the ndp stand area!

Overall, it is not bad.. Opening of fireworks quite nicely choreographed with the music.. Even the sound of the exploding fireworks match the music and give it a little twist...

Only one thing that I didn't really like. Even though I had the correct angle of viewing the fireworks, the area that the fireworks went off was too big! I could only concentrate on 1/2 of the sky at one time. But sometimes, fireworks will go off high in the sky, with some tiny ones near the water. Very difficult to enjoy the intended beauty of the full picture..

Didn't take much photos, just kept it clicking while I watched... Just 2 photos that I think are ok... Prefer the first...

NDP - in a different way

It's National Day! Happy birthday Singapore!!!

I'm watching the end of the national day parade on tv. DIfferent perspective from what i've seen from merlion area on preview day..

Anyway, other than lunch with family at Lot One, I spent the day at home. Immediately after lunch, I tried my first attempt at muffins, specifically banana muffins. J's supposed to join me, but he got last minute notice (yesterday) that he had to work..

1st batch got burnt on the surface after using the temperature on the recipe, though still moist inside. Had to adjust the temperature with my instincts. Turned out pretty ok...



Haven't tried the muffins again to test for taste... From eating one chao ta muffin, seems like it's not sweet enough.

Next time I shall add some walnuts or chocolate chips!

Krispy Kreme

I got my krispy kreme doughnuts flown from sydney!!!





Hee.. That's the sight after picking my sis up from airport. Just outside the arrival hall, hands went into the box and 6 doughnuts became 2.

Yummy yummy... Been a long time since my uk trip that I ate it. Downed another 2 this morning.

Sinful... But I like the feeling of the sugar melting in my mouth..

NDP Preview

I went for NDP Preview! But didn't go with tickets.. muahaha...

Sat at merlion area from 4+pm onwards. Listened to some music played on a stage by SAF music and drama company while waiting. Donated some money and got a star-shaped clapper cum blinking lights...



4 of us feasted into a black pepper chicken bought at supermarket. A bit like aunties, with one hand wearing a plastic bag to eat without getting oily hands. Hee...

Lots of activity in the sea. Quite a different feeling from previous NDPs. A lot of nice fireworks too. Didn't take photos though...
