Forbidden Kingdom

Watched Forbidden Kingdom yesterday. For those who do not know, it's an english movie starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan.

Went into the cinema expecting a little comedy, especially with Jet and Jackie speaking english most of the time. At the end, it wasn't really their pronunciation that made it a comedy, but the plot and some stupid lines... At certain points, it was really funny with the whole cinema bursting into laughter... When you watch, you'll know what I mean.

Plot's so-so, quite expected. But the action's definitely good to watch. What else can one expect! 2 good fighters = very good...

chicken vs duck

Was having lunch alone at 'wang jiao' cafe. Noticed an interesting scene..

This caucasian couple walk towards the counter. I still can't figure out which nationality. Barely managed to hear much of their conversation, but they don't sound like french or german. Very fair-skinned couple. Russian?

Anyway, they were at the counter figuring what to order with very basic english it seems. The counter auntie was very friendly and helpful trying to explain that they should order fishball noodles instead of the other main meals (mee siam, mee rebus, laksa) which were spicy! Don't think they'll take to those flavours well. Then it went on to introducing the other sets with kaya toast etc... So after a while, the couple finally decided. Then, they looked at the drinks-making area. Instead of the usual latte machine, I guess it's quite a strange scene to see big metal flasks with black liquid (coffee) instead. Saw them mouthing 'coffee?' to the auntie before ordering...

Next, their bowls of noodles came. Then another auntie who brought the noodles were offering forks instead of chopsticks.

Just found it very interesting to see this couple finding their way in this strange place with helpful aunties. When we go overseas to a non-english or chinese speaking country, I guess this will happen to us too... =)
