went marina sq on sunday... Realized the campus superstar champions were performing.. Zhiyang was there singing!!! And I never bring my camera out!!! So irritated... BLEAHZ

I almost had a chance to go up stage to be slightly more up close and personal. They were playing a game. Each of them will sing a line from some song and the audience will try to sing the next line. Teresa sang the song 'Cinderella' by Zhang Hui Mei. It was the only song that no one put up their hand, but I knew the song... Just didn't have the guts to go up and sing.. Previous pple who went up kenna suan like siao cause they forget a bit of lyrics, sing out of tune, etc... Though I had confidence that I can still sing ok, but I didn't wanna risk it lah.. In case I get nervous and go out of tune... hee..

went to mt alvernia today during lunch time. Colleague's wife gave birth during the weekend, so we went to visit. It's a baby gal. Went there and the baby was all wrapped up in cloth and sleeping soundly in the cot. Sleeping and sleeping except for some yawning and opening of sleepy eyes only 1 or 2 times...

Very very small, cute and pretty gal.. Nice black hair. Quite a lot of hair for a baby. Double eye-lid, dimple, small pout kissable lips!!

She's so cute!!! SO CUTE!! I wanna play with one too!! Whose genes will have a good mix with mine? hahahaha... nah.. someone give birth to one so I can play with the baby!!

1 year

This post is overdue... abt 4 days overdue...

On 11 May 2006, I hit my 1st anniversary of work life... Now, I've worked for more than 1 year! ARGHZ!!! Time passes super fast! It's scary!!! Arghz!!!

And to mark the end of 1st year, on 12 May, I went to cut my hair.. Cropped my fringe to be exact and do very mild highlighting..

Scene at salon:
- Hairdresser combs long long fringe in front of face. Eyesight quite covered.
- Cuts off the fringe. Long strips of hair falls on lap. Thought in mind: 'I feel sick. This better turn out good'

So there goes my fringe again... Look like a jap doll i think.. time for new wardrobe? hee

It's here again this evening... Had a slight head pain this morning when I woke up cause of some neckache due to bad sleeping... Somehow it's linked to the head by some vein or i dunno wat... Disappeared during work and then headache in another area came after dinner...

Hate this... Dunno why I got more headaches since uni... Sianz...

amazed by the types of pple in this world.. dun understand why pple like to complicate simple matters.. ask them to nominate colleagues for a few "looney awards", like 'best smile', 'charming eyes', etc. But some can totally hate the idea and utterly refuse to vote and act sarcastic. Just a small and simple thing to do for an anniversary event, just for fun.

not mad at them. Things can still go on without them, but can't they simplify things?

Taiwan

Ok, it's been more than a week since I've returned from Taiwan. Shall finally blog about it since I have the time and I've sorted my photos out...

Went around whole of taiwan in 7 days. Really short time to travel to so many places. Went to taipei, chiufen, taizhong, kaohsiung, etc... Sat a lot in the bus for the first few days because we had to travel from one place to another. There were stopovers here and there to see stuff, but still.....

Basically, what I did could be summarized by 'Eat, sleep, shop'. Wake up to eat breakfast, go on bus and sleep, go stopover and go toilet and/or buy stuff to eat, go on bus and sleep, reach place to eat lunch, go stopover see and go toilet and/or eat, go on bus and sleep, see stuff, go on bus and sleep, eat dinner, go back hotel sleep. Did I not talk about shop? well, shopping happens whenever there's stuff to buy. Could be souvenirs, food, clothes, wat not...

Went to 3 or 4 night markets. Ate from different stalls, many different types of food. Bought some cheap clothes, pair of shoes, belts, bags.

Pple have been asking me what special or nice things I ate. I ate pig's blood, duck's blood, smelly tofu, bbq chicken backside, braised duck's tongue, 'wu1 yu2 zi3' (i think it's smoked fish eggs, not sure). Special enough? I think all of them are nice, except that wu yi zi has a little fishy taste. Surprisingly, the chicken backside did taste nice. And smelly tofu in taiwan is definitely much better than geylang's. Of course i ate the more normal stuff like fried chicken cutlet, fried mushrooms, fried mini crabs, noodles, etc...

Fruit juice stall

If you still think that bittergourd is bitter, pls drop that thought. It's old-fashioned. Taiwan has created this white-colour bittergourd that's not bitter. It's quite a popular fruit juice drink. You can order it with honey to make it sweeter. Drank it twice. It tastes not bad and acts as a cooling drink..

Shihlin Night Market

My dinner for the 1st night at Shihlin Night Market. It consists of bittergourd juice, smelly tofu, duck's blood in spicy soup and oyster omelette. The oyster omelette sauce is sweet. Definitely different from singapore's. Of course, that's not the entire dinner. Went around to eat lots of stuff

Game machines

These game machines are everywhere!!! The kind with soft toys and you use this metal hand to attempt to grab the toy. So many shops in taiwan. Wonder how they survive. Must be really popular..

Ice cream

Doesn't look like typical ice cream. This was bought outside Nantien Temple. The owner will shave a big block of peanut candy with some wooden tool to have small peanut bits. Dump the peanut bits onto this popiah-like skin. Add 2 scoops of ice cream and some herbs. Wrap it up like popiah stuff. Have to say that it's quite nice

Jin Hua Hotel Room

This is a panoramic view of my hotel room for 3 person. Note: 3 persons.
It's supposed to be a business hotel. The tv can be rotated. It has an electric machine that gives me hot and cold water. The room has 3 single beds and 1 queen size bed. The toilet has a mini sauna, but I didn't use it cause it was late and we needed to bathe, pack and sleep.

Anyway, the room was so big that I got my parents to sleep in the same room

Ximending

1 of the happening place in taiwan, with the famous mee sua... Definitely taste good..

If you go, beware. The chilli sauce is quite spicy..

Went to a cafe at ximending for drinks and cake cause it was my dad's birthday. The cakes and drinks are not bad. If you look carefully, the seats are actually wooden swings hanging from the ceiling. It looked interesting so we chose this cafe. Quite nice to be swinging around...

'Dian Shui Lou' Xiaolong Pau

Dinner for my last night in Taiwan. Xiaolong Pau!!

Supposedly this restaurant, Dian Shui Lou, was opened by chefs from the famous 'Ding Tai Feng' restaurant. Look at how much soup there was from my xiaolong pau!!! *slurp* Definitely much better than the xiaolong pau from Singapore's Ding Tai Feng.
