Handsome chaps...

Ever since I've gone on my trip, people have been asking me if I saw any cute guys, talked to any, brought any back...

Let's see.. I've seen a handful of good-looking guys... Too bad that it's damn difficult to get a photo of them.. So too bad for those girls who wanted to see photo.. Only one french guy really caught my eye. It's this guy who was in charge of the boat when i was on the river cruise. He's amazing... As in he had to speak in the microphone and he could speak french, english and spanish. Was it spanish? At least I remember it was 3 languages.. Quite fluently too.. Was very amazed cause french and english is the very max I've heard the French speak.

As for the others... There's a waiter at a London restaurant who's really good looking.. My fren says he looks like an actor in 'pearl harbour'. Took photo with a london bobby (policeman). I saw a salesman in Cambridge with very sharp features.

My favourite is this Mr Burgers guy... Cambridge has 2 burger vans that open from 7pm to 2am. Quite useful when shops close at 5pm and restaurant close maybe at 10? Got this cute guy (or at least I think he's cute) working there.. Was taking photo of the van and he noticed so he smiled.. *faint* hee.. so cute! Ok.. at least my kind of cute...

That's all for now i think... Unless my frens there remind me that I forgot to write abt some guy..

Oh yes.. I forgot!! My boyfriend!! Shld make a correction.. He's Joseph, brown hair, dark brown eyes. English boy.. Shall show u guys his photo liao.. Lots of people asking..

Handsome rite?

hmm...

i dunno wat to write ah..... at least for my trip.. i'm back.. i dun think i have jet lag.. unless it's a delayed reaction.. managed to keep awake till last night so i could sleep at a decent time..

just spent 45 mins sorting out my pamphlets and postcards.. all gonna be kept as souvenirs for myself... didn't really buy anything much else... expensive ah..

ate gd food there every day... each meal cost maybe S$6 and above.. one even cost 30 bucks.. can range from baguette with some fillings to sandwiches to spanish rice... no choice when it's food... got to eat.. ate lots of bread for my trip. most in paris. I think all my meals in paris was bread.. But I quite like that plain baguette i had for breakfast in paris.. As poor people, we went to a mini supermarket and 3 people shared a long baguette (french loaf). Very nice even though plain...

Tried quite hard to eat the kind of food there.. Had baguette and tart in paris; baguette, pizza, spaghetti, pancake in amsterdam; panini, lasagne, mussels, roast chicken in london; paella (spanish rice), thai food, portugese roast chicken; scone, croissant, sandwich, fagita (wrap) in cambridge.. I'm very sure I missed out some food here and there, but it's something like that ah... Didn't eat bread every single day though.. Can say that I'm not sick of bread yet. Didn't go to an overdose.. I survived!

Mayball

Oh mine.. i'm writing posts continuously while I am online.. Please have the patience to read....

It's 2+pm here. Slept at 6+am today cause I went for Mayball last night. It's like a formal event, a party that lasts throughout the night. In cambridge, there are many colleges.. It's a bit like dormitories but more... For the past 2 nights, each night had 3 colleges with their own mayball.. Tonight maybe got more... Anyway, i went for one... Shall tell you wat it is about....

Firstly, it's not cheap. It's 88 pounds. Exchange rate is abt 3.1 sing to 1 pound. Go do ur math... But the thing is that when u enter the party, everything is free of charge.. It's a formal thingy so gals turned up in gowns and guys wore suits and bow tie. Yes yes.. bow tie... Even much more formal than our normal graduation dinners... or at least for the guys. I wore a black gown and black shawl, but most of the time, i was covered in a jacket cause it was quite cold... It's called mayball, but people aren't in a ballroom dancing dancing.. More like a party to me..

Queued up at 7+pm. Went into the ball at 9+pm. Straight away went to queue for food... In the college, there are a few courtyards. So the ball was just divided into the different courts. For food, we had fajita (wrap), pizza, burger, cheese cake, fresh fruit smoothies, damn good gelato ice cream, doughnuts, tea, coffee..... I tried everything but some only tried a few mouthfuls.. Too full by then... How could I forget... Definitely there's alcohol.. It's UK. Got red wine, white wine, champagne, beers, ales, cocktails, etc etc.. I only had a bottle of vodka orange (those mild ones) and that was at 3+am? Cause other than smoothie, tea, coffee, there's hardly any non-alcoholic drink.

3 of the courts had performances. 2 were mainly by bands and one was slightly more high-class in a way. Had gal playing piano, singing, acapella. Listened in the acapella performance. Have to say they are reallly really good!

Had other entertainment. There's a mini casino, but we didn't play. If we did, each person would get a number of chips, so you can go play... There's karaoke... A room showing some films/movies. But I like the games best. I played giant connect four, a two-person swing, bumper car, bouncy castle. Some other games which I didn't play were bungee run, rodeo (sit on a fake bull and hold on tight while the bull swings around), giant jenga. oh, there is a pool table too... Didn't play that. But i played a few arcade machines and lots of table soccer.

We last till 6am. Had breakfast at 4.30am.. Lots of croissant and juices and tea and coffee. By then, it was quite cold.. Could only survive on hot tea... *brrr* Throughout the night, we had to go indoors occassionally to keep warm. Really admire those still in their gown and shawls. Others had their own jackets and some guy's jacket around them by then. Then at 6pm, all the so called survivors gathered in a court and took a photo! yay!! I survived! Was still quite awake then... But I can't say for the rest... There were a few groups of drunks around us, who couldn't stand still, swayed around. One even threw his champagne or white wine into the air at the end of phototaking.. Bloody hell... Would have stepped on him with my heels if I knew who he was.. Almost stepped on the swaying drunks behind me. They keep swaying and leaning forward or leaning towards their right onto my fren.

punting

back in cambridge.. went punting one afternoon. Punting is where you use a stick to push against the riverbed to move the boat... 6 of us went and 4 of us punted. I have to say I suck at it.. I'm not strong enough and the stick's quite heavy.. Boat also likes to go in the oppo direction that i want it to go... So, i had to do things in the oppo manner...

Anyway, we went punting on a sunday. Lots of people punting. The river was crowded! So were the riverbanks. Lots of pple sitting around... And we saw some crazy people!!

One boat had a few guys. One guy wore a beard, carried a fake sword, and wore a pirate's hat. And he'll wave his sword at boats and shout some stuff.. Then other guys had water guns. They went past one boat, then a guy said 'you're wearing a white top!' to a gal, then they shot her top wet... stupid pple... then past our ship, they said that they'll shoot us, then pause then say that nah they won't. Then a few secs later, they shot us... Duh rite.. Luckily i never believe them. Had my back towards them.

Some other boats knew each other. So they were splashing water on each other. One guy either jumped in or fell into the river from his boat. He was swimming then he jumped onto our boat next to my fren who was punting. Then he stood at the edge with arms wide open. So my boat and his boat were just shouting to my fren 'push him in!!' And that's what she did! I think he's just having the fun of conquering and being pushed in...

oh... some punters fell into the river too... Have to keep balance and it's quite difficult when your boat bangs against the bank or another boat. I fell too, but not in the river... Heng ah.. I fell forward, onto my fren who was sitting in front of me... Heng heng heng.....

Tell you the craziest thing... I was punting.. Then at the bridge ahead, we started seeing a few guys jump into the river from the middle of the bridge. That was crazy enough. Then this guy stood on the bridge, removed his bottoms and jumped in naked!!! Of course got people encouraging and cheering... My boat was just going 'ahhhh!!!'. Or maybe just me...

amsterdam

got so much to write... just came back from mayball but i shall talk in chronological order first...

had abt 1.5 days in amsterdam. took it more relaxing in amsterdam. we didn't rush around to see museums and what not. basically, amsterdam is quite small and there were many attractions that we wanted to see, so we could just take our time.

reached in the afternoon. went around, followed a map and went to Anne Frank's house. You know, the one she hid in. Got to walk around the house. Saw the bookcase, really quite ingenious. But the staircase is really very tiny and slim. Quite difficult to climb... And the rooms are quite small to fit so many pple. Like Anne's room, i couldn't imagine that they could fit 2 beds into the room. The stairs are wooden and they had to be quiet climbing it. Quite amazing.... Felt really sad abt the tragedy that happened last time regarding the Jews..

Went to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum on 2nd day. Both are art galleries... Rijksmuseum had art displays mainly related to the Dutch. Slightly prefered Van Gogh cause i could recognize some of the paintings. Could at least appreciate and thought that some of his paintings are quite nice... Bought a few postcards and i have to say that the paintings are much much much nicer...

Went on a canal cruise. If you didn't know, Amsterdam also has many many canals and super many bridges... So went on a 1hour cruise trip. Oh, there is this house along a canal that's supposed to be the skinniest house along canals. It's only wider than a window. If got chance, can show u photo. But their windows are quite big lah... Cause in amsterdam, doors are quite small, so people move furniture in through the windows with a pulley system. So, you actually see a pulley on top of every house.

Went to the red light district in Amsterdam. It's really very well known for its red light districts. Oh, and its drugs and homosexuals too. You can easily see places with rainbow flags outside. Or coffee shops, which are actually places to sit and take drugs. As for red light districts, it's quite an open thing. Girls just go rent a room along this street. The room would be lit with red fluorescent light. Girls would sit behind a huge window, wearing bikini or something attractive. If anyone fancies a certain girl, you just go into her room, ask for price. If you are happy with the price, she'll pull the curtain and you'll satisfy ur needs in a small room behind.. Interesting rite?? I was quite excited seeing the girls. Some have really good figures but some are fat and some are ugly. Oh, and i saw a couple of guys going in and curtains being drawn..

Went to this erotic museum in the district too. It's really quite erotic. There are a few levels and it gets slightly worse and worse. Start with 2nd floor that has pictures and statues and postures and pple having sex, then go up to this erotic cartoon and more pics and statues. Then see a model of a typical prostitute's working area, etc.. Lastly, you see whips, cuffs and whatever sadistic equipments...

Oh! if you ever go ah, and u have the money and curious enough. You can go watch the live sex show. You just pay the money and sit there as long as u want, watching pple have sex. Girl-guy, guy-guy, gal-gal... all u want!! *grin* I didn't.. The museum was good enough..

Lastly, 3rd day, we went out of Amsterdam to Den Hague (i hope i got the name right). Went to Madurodam.. It's a miniature world where you see buildings in Netherlands in small size. Quite cool cause I practically toured the whole of Netherlands in less than a day... Went back to cambridge in the evening...

That's all folks for Amsterdam! can talk more personally.. basically, this is quite a lot liao....

paris

i finally have time to type on my blog in cambridge. alone in the room now cause my fren and some others have gone for a college ball tonight. I'll be going with them tomorrow night for another one.. hope it'll be fun!

anyway, shall start talking a bit abt my holiday lah.. could ask me more but i'll just say a bit here... it's too much to write too.. dunno where to start

paris... spent abt 2 full days sightseeing in paris.. have to say that 2 days is very little to cover so many places.. that's why our itinerary was very packed and rushed..

reached paris at night from Cambridge on the very day I reached UK. Had a super exciting but scary encounter on the metro to our hostel. We were 2 stops away when this 2 guys suddenly jumped out of their seats and were going to fight with the group behind them. I think one guy behind hit and touched him or something. So he not happy and they were pushing and quarrelling and wat not. And it happened like 2m away from us lor!! Came real close but luckily we had to get off liao... Damn scary man!!

on the first day, we went to Versailles. It's outside of central paris and was a palace. So we spent about half a day exploring the inside of the palace, look at the exhibits, the beautifully painted walls and ceilings. maybe u'll know the 'hall of mirrors'. Also explored the gardens outside.. the garden is huge!!! Really really huge!!!! I think walking around the entire garden would make you lose some weight... after which, we went to see the 'arc de triomphe'. it's an arc structure which is squarish base. You can climb to the top and enjoy the view, but we didn't cause of lack of time

Rushed down to Eiffel Tower for sunset. Quite a queue to get up the tower. Took the lift to the 2nd floor, which was pretty high liao. Could get a panoramic view of the surroundings.. Took some photos here and there. Watched the sun go down slowly too... We were about to go take the lift to the 3rd (top) floor when the lights on eiffel started to flash.. Lights will flash hourly for 15 mins. Very pretty... Rushed to take lots of nice photos. Finally got to the top of eiffel. Had a very quick walk around to enjoy the view cause it was super crowded! Reached down to ground level just in time for the next light flashing at 11pm...

Was already quite late but we decided to risk it and go Moulin Rouge to take photos. There is a real Moulin Rouge. Like some club with a lighted windmill.. Was very late and it's in the middle of red light district so we totally rushed there, take photos and quickly leave. Very sad to say but we steered clear of any Blacks. Not trying to be racist or wat but they don't seem to have a very good reputation...

Next day, we went to Notre Dame. It's a cathedral with very high bell towers. We were the first to get up Notre Dame and climb very very long winding spiral staircase. Really long!!! I was panting when i reached the top. I admit I'm lousy but not that lousy. 2 of my frens were in front of me and other tourists were behind me. As I climbed, slowly I notice that I can see fewer and fewer pple directly behind me. It came to a point where I couldn't see anyone behind me... haha.. Didn't go all the way to the top cause they were short of staff, so they didn't open the top part of the tower.. can't figure whether that's good or bad for me

Went to Sainte Chapelle. It's a church well known for their stained glass. The stained glasses tell a story and you have to read in a certain direction. But i have to admit that I really suck at it... There was a paper that tells pple wat certain panels show, but I can't figure most of them anyway....

Went to Museum Louvre. It's a art museum. Saw many many paintings, sculptures, crown jewels etc.. Oh and I saw the real Mona Lisa painting.. Nothing great but it was the most crowded area of the museum cause everyone just had to see it. I just joined the crowd lor.. hahaha. That place is really huge!! you can spend an entire day inside looking at all the exhibits. There were 3 wings to the museum and we didn't really even finish one wing thoroughly in 2 hours lor..

Lastly, we went to Basilique de Sacre Coeur. It's another church but this one is more solemn. No talking loudly, must cover ur shoulders to be able to enter, no photos, etc etc.. But the interior design is really quite nice lor... Was very impressed by it.

Anyway, that's all for Paris. At least the main points of wat i saw...

i'm here!

hee.. i've reached!! i landed at about 7.30am uk time, which is 2.30pm sg time. safe and sound.....

i'll just talk a bit now cause i'm rushing to take a coach in 20 mins.. ok.. flight was ok.. got enough legroom for my long flight from bangkok to london. was very lucky that the seat beside mine was empty, so i could use part of the seat to put my legs and sling bag... and there was this really handsome angmoh on my plane!!! noticed him in bangkok airport liao and he sat right in front of me!! you guys watch american idol? he looks like the host, ryan seacrest, but even much much better looking than him!! the style of ryan... that look.. but so much even more better! *swoon* but i never take photo or talk to him lah... shy shy... hahaha....

was on the plane.. i was supposed to sleep lots until close to landing time or breakfast on plane so that i won't get jet lagged. but i ended up waking up at 3+am uk time!! couldn't get back to sleep anymore.. a little disturbed by this little super hyperactive boy who was awake since 2+am... keeps walking, jumping around, calling for mummy to get her attention, blah blah blah.. just imagine that! from 2 am to 7am and still going strong! i doubt he'll last very long.. confirm sleeping now or very soon... then his poor sister, about primary sch age, was sick. think she got fever or something.. she puked on the plane close to 10 times? that was what i heard her mum say... so poor thing.. 11 hrs of plane and being sick is not a gd thing at all...

anyway i sat on the plane for 2 hours, then 11 hours.. almost died!! my knees were in pain for sitting too long. then another 3 hours coach to cambridge.. keeping bugging her fren asking whether we have reached cause i couldn't stand sitting again! soon, i'll take another 2 hours coach to the airport..

GUYS!!! LISTEN UP!! ok.. not only guys... but i think the guys or people are quite polite and courteous here... we ended the dormitory door on the 1st floor and another guy was coming down the stairs... there is another door in between us, nearer to the stairs. normally, in singapore, you would expect people to just come down, open the door, then walk off and go past you.. BUT he came down, opened the door, came out and held the door until you walked in... Not only him, but my fren told me that the guys here do that!! Wow!! so nice.... tsk tsk tsk...

ok, shall stop writing... be back in 6 or 7 days time to come online! till then!

enjoying myself...

been a little crazy nowadays... just a little.. and don't think it's abt my soon-to-come trip....

yest, 2 gal frens came over to my house to stayover... last minute arrangements.. we decided at 10+pm and reached my house past midnight.. stayed up until 3+am when we decided to go sleep...

woke up at 9am and have been awake since then.. quite amazing when i had so little sleep.. went for some beauty seminar.. some lobang from yj.. go there listen listen, have a free tea reception and take free goodie bag... don't think most of u will see me soon.. maybe when i return.. i got hair extensions!!! if you don't know wat it is, it's synthetic hair that's glued to ur own hair... i got a strip of purple on my right and a strip of light blue on my left!! feel so happening.... maybe i'll put photo when i take photos in uk...

finally felt that i'm really really going on holiday just now when i was busy packing my luggage with my mom.. bring this bring that.. whether i forgot to bring this or that.. it's a very mixed feeling now... complicated feeling... excited to go and explore.. but also fear of the unknown, that something really bad might happen, or i'll get robbed, mugged, watever not...

a little tired now... think it's the lack of sleep...

added this at a later time.. almost forgot.. i went to those louis vuitton shops and christian dior shops in taka for fun.. went into burberry and picked up this black leather mini skirt.. anyone wanna guess how much it costs? give up? $1210. no, i didn't forget to put a decimal point.. one black leather mini skirt costs that much.. can u believe it!!!! *faint* was reading a free copy of 'her world' just now. the most expensive louis vuitton bag on that page costs $33,600... wow.. wonder who buys... crazy pple...

ok.. i'll say slightly more but i will not spoil the show for those who wanna watch... firstly, i got to admit that i jumped at one scene... now i understand why i heard that this movie is a scary one.. i like the suspense though.. nice...

and.. i'm glad i didn't read the book before the movie!! Dunno how it would have affected me but at least i dunno the plot and can't expect anything.. my poor fren had pple beside him talking abt how the movie is diff from the book and dun have this and that... for those who read the book, don't compare!!! never understand why u compare... a book is a book.. a movie is a movie.. a movie can never be a book...

go enjoy the show!

happy bday to me....

thanx to all who had a part in the mass birthday celebration.... quite a pity that i couldn't stay for very long and hang out with everyone... especially when many were late.. *ahem* hahaha.. expected... so expected.. wat to do...

Jokes...

Anyone who watched 'guess guess guess' would have heard that sweet potato "joke" again.. i still can't get it.. so do a lot of pple.. for those haven't heard, the joke goes (in chinese).. 'a man, who looks like a sweet potato, was walking and walking and then he fell.' anyone gets it?? hahahaha.... i thought another one was slightly better. 'a man, who looks like an onion, was walking and walking and then he cried.' hahahahaha

ah well.. got a better one.. This is a riddle.. come guess.. came from '食字路口’. Those who watched, hush hush.. dun tell..

'There is this dog who will go to a particular leg of a table everyday. And at that particular table leg, he would leave a long piece of shit there without fail. However, one day, the dog went to that table leg, but he left behind 4 long pieces of shit instead!! Why??'
