read today's straits times already? there was an article introducing 3 new hongkong dessert shops in singapore. If got time, can go try...

BUT.. haii... my dreams are dashed.. Always thought that I could open a hongkong styled dessert shop in singapore. Maybe open a chain... Now that people have done it, what am i going to do next time??? sighz.....

Unless they fail terribly so that I can bring up the idea again many years later.... If not....

Must think of something again..

a little boy standing around looking dull
with mummy at the bus terminal
suddenly
his face lights up
an innocent wide smile
he dashes forward
swaying slightly side to side
with arms wide open
he got a hug
and lifted into the air
why??
daddy's here!!

That was what I saw when I was walking to the bus terminal... Quite heartwarming. Mom and son waiting for dad to take bus home...

Made me wonder... Did I ever do that when I was a little gal? Did I run to my parents when they came to pick me? Did I get a hug and carried around after that? Did my face light up when I saw my parents?

I hope it happened to me too... I can't remember...

Relax People...

I read this today on Straits Times.. Really like this article!

Relax, people, it's the countryside
By Tan Hui Yee
THE media reports had piqued public interest in the Kranji countryside, and free shuttle services to the otherwise inaccessible area made the trip there easier.
As a result, last weekend, thousands of people descended on some farms in Kranji more accustomed to hosting a handful of visitors.
The farmers, overwhelmed by the crowds, ran out of food and drinks and farm produce for sale.
The visitors, equally overwhelmed, fumed over the 'disorganised' carnival, the inadequate bus shuttle service and the lack of proper signage at the farms, among other things.
My colleague Shefali Srinivas, who was there on Sunday, saw a woman with her child walk off looking puzzled when she found out ice cream was not available.
It says a lot about Singapore's state of development that we can expect that ice cream be available when we trot off to the countryside.
It says even more about its people that we are so quick to complain when things don't run like clockwork.
To be fair, there were people who enjoyed their trip out to the farms. Many young children probably touched a goat and peeked under a growing lettuce for the first time in their lives.
But the mood among those stuck in the bus queues and their cars along narrow Neo Tiew Road, where the farms are, appeared to be one of rancour.
Are we missing something here?
Did these people forget that they were in the countryside, where the pace is supposed to be slower, where the roads are supposed to be narrower and where carnivals sometimes do not go as planned?
Did those fuming over the long wait for the buses forget that they could afford to wait because it was the weekend and they had no deadlines to meet?
Obviously, when more than 6,000 people descend within a single day, as happened on Sunday, things can get a little too crowded for comfort.
But one wonders what else these people took away from their trip apart from the memories of the heat, the crush of bodies and the inadequate facilities.
Did anybody bother to look up and notice that, for once, they could see a perfect sunset because their view of the skyline was not marred by tall buildings in the distance?
Did they try to explore the farms themselves, instead of bristling at the fact that there were not enough farmhands to give them a tour, or tell them where to go and what to see?
One father commented to Ms Srinivas that his child could probably learn more about nature at the zoo, because there are signboards there giving details about the animals he encounters.
But that is comparing apples to oranges.
The zoo is built for visitors; farms, mostly not.
The countryside is meant to be a little rough around the edges, a little footloose. That's what sets it apart from the city.
I'm not making excuses for the farmers and the inadequate provisions they made for the hordes of visitors.
But if we can endure two-hour jams at the Causeway with nary a thought, surely we can be more forgiving of these Kranji farmers, who dug into their own pockets to make sure those without cars could get a free ride to the countryside.

I think this article tells a lot about Singaporeans.. And I totally agree with it. Need to learn how to relax..

When you go Chinatown for CNY
You know there'll be a crowd
Relax and just follow the flow
When you go to Sentosa
Slow ur pace down
When you go to the farms
Breathe in the fresh air from nature

american idol 4

it's back!! hahaha... and i'm typing this while i'm watching it.. I love watching the first few episodes where the selection process starts!! It's absolutely amazingly funny! You hear good voices and you hear utterly terrible voices too.. Even one that I totally cannot make out what he's saying or singing. His words are all muffled up that I can't understand a word!!

Ah well.. it's funny! Entertaining! Muahaha... So far, I heard 1 or 2 that I quite like....

cny chinatown

tired... just came back from 6.5 hours of walking, eating and shopping at chinatown. Been to chinatown for 2 consecutive days. The day before, I only spent 1+ hour there. It was super crowded even at 6pm. No mood to squeeze. A few times, I was stuck in the crowd with no space to move. No one could move.. Today, amazingly, it ain't that bad! No bad people jam...

happy happy.. Always make it a point to go Chinatown at least once during cny season. Go squeeze a bit, look at the cny decor, see red colour everywhere, feel the cny spirit!

Spent some money at Chinatown liao.. Buy food, buy drinks, buy dessert.. This year, there's an angmoh with a stall selling german sausages! New thing... Usually all chinese stuff.. And I quite like the sausages.. Yummy... Bought some cny decor too.. Cute cute ones.. Mickey mouse and precious moments..

Ever noticed that even cny decor has fashion trends? I can't really remember wat's fashionable last year. I think oranges.. This orange mesh thingy that u can d.i.y. Roll it up and it'll look like oranges.. This year, the fashion is cny decor that's 3-d. At least more 3-d looking, with things sticking out... It's interesting to see the trend every year..

finally...

hee.. been wanting to blog for the last 2 days.. But i reached home late late for the past 2 nights. Too tired and no energy to blog.. So i can sit down and blog now!!

2 nights ago, I went to my cousin's wedding liao.. My cousin's the groom. The bride not bad ah.. First time I saw her. Pretty lah.. Just looks older than her age. I think she even looks older than me.. As for my groom, his jacket a bit the big for him.. haha.. Dunno where they get it from. But the wedding photos quite nice.. If I ever get married, I also want nice wedding photos.. Can't be ugly anyway, since there'll be editing done.. Your face will look super nice and smooth, forgetting that u ever had pimples, holes, wrinkles, etc etc...

Restaurant quite small.. Food not bad lah.. Will do to satisfy my stomach with shark's fins, abalone, mushrooms and roast pig.. Actually, the entire night, I was more entertained by this little girl sitting at my table. I dunno how she's related to me lah.. But it's my distant relative. So cute! She sits in the kids' chair. Every dish that comes, she'll start getting excited and say 'mum mum' (food). Then she'd want to eat.. But she had her milk for dinner liao mah.. So once, her mom would put her chopsticks into the food, got a bit of gravy, then put in the gal's mouth. Then a few seconds, later, the gal want, then put chopsticks in her mouth again... Super cute ah!! Super greedy too.. But at least she's not hyper active. Her sister was busy running around the place. It's terrible when the restaurant is so small and so squeezy liao. Poor waitresses. Had to serve dishes and make sure no kid bangs into them.

Oh.. seldom do I sit in the same restaurant and see so many ah bengs at one shot.. haha.. Anyway, I was quite amused during the 'yam seng'. Before the 3rd yam seng, the mc said in chi 'wish the couple zao sheng gui zi'. Then my sis muttered to me, 'dun need liao.. already have'. HAHAHAHA!! It suddenly dawned on me. Yah! You're right!!

Been feeling quite lucky and happy these few days.. That's good... Seen pple around, getting unexpected call, getting unexpected surprise. =) But going up means there'll be a down. Hope the down comes gradually so that I won't notice it..

Chemistry Question

Copied this from my fren's blog... Dunno where he got it from.. Thot it's a gd one...

Chemistry Question

The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet. How cool can this be? Read on...

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.

As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different Religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.

With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate that the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you, and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct..leaving only Heaven thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY A...

night sky...

when the sky's clear, look up at night.. Admire the stars and the sky...

Last night, I reached east coast an hour earlier cause my parents had to drop me off early.. But I didn't waste my hour... Had a nice stroll to the beach. Sat on a bench and looked up.. Clear sky. No clouds. Stars!!

Saw Orion, Sirius, Gemini, seven sisters.. Thought I saw Mars too, but wasn't sure.. Saw lots of stars but couldn't recognize them without my map..

But.. who cares? Just admire the beauty of the night sky. Or close ur eyes and listen to the sea waves splashing in...

Real nice..

nite cycling

i just came back from nite cycling... just that i didn't cycle... hahaha... I just sat in the lorry, the safety vehicle.. Sat at the back 99.9% of the time... Actually, I didn't really confirm that I was going until yesterday late afternoon when I roughly have an idea who would be sitting on the vehicle with me. If too little pple and it's pple i dun talk to, then might have decided not to go. Go only be extra and bored perhaps.. heng, it didn't turn out boring!

Didn't cycle cause I think I quite lousy at cycling. Can't start in a straight line very well and I tend not to cycle in straight line.. hahaha.... Better not stress the people in charge of each group to look after my safety!

Well...Very nice and windy when the lorry goes fast.. Then I got to chat to people lots... Thought that was very fun too... Not many times do you sit with a small group of people for hours. Get to talk, joke, have fun!

Although I didn't cycle and show that I can tahan the entire night (which I think I can't), i still accomplished something!! I DROVE THE LORRY FOR 5-10 MINS!!! Ok lah.. quite a short journey, and quite a straight road with almost no traffic. It's the long stretch of road leading to ecp macs... But at least I drove a lorry to 4th gear, tried some reversing and had to cut to the oppo lane to overtake an accident.. Yeah. Got accident. When our lorry reached, we saw a motorbike stuck in front of the taxi. No one on the bike liao, but it's just stuck to the taxi.. Heng, no serious injuries i think... But the last few cyclists saw the accident happen before their eyes. So scary....

Yay!! I can drive lorry liao! hahaha.. simple driving lah... I still can't drive the car super well anyway..

humour

today, i learnt that humour is very important in life.. humour makes you happy and others too..

Met several different groups of people today. Unplanned i guess.. And in these groups, there are individuals that are born "comedians". They're funny, they talk crap, they make u laugh and joke around... Very good.. very happy.. Puts a smile on ur face on any terrible or boring day..

Quite amazed that a couple of them I saw actually remember me.. Remember my face and/or name! Wow.. Don't think I talked to them before, or seen each other for very long.. Well, i guess since I can remember them, it's not that weird if they remember me... But, I thot i was transparent.. Or translucent at those times... Ah well... Good sign!

Had lecture today with a new lecturer. Visiting professor so he's still getting used to Singapore system I guess.. Poor thing.. Seems to be bullied by dept and then by us.. We didn't bully him lah but we dun respond much in class. Guess he's not used to it.. Soon soon.. Will be nicer to him.. Feel more comfortable to talk in his class. And he didn't know next fri got public holiday. I had the honour to tell him during class... At least now he knows..

Had a nice dinner today.. Not in terms of food. But very relaxed. Went to a fren to Clementi Pasar Malam. Bumped into another group of psy pple walking too. Fren and I bought some food to eat, then sat at the fountain. Then the other group came to sit together.. Very very relaxed dinner.. Just eat and talk, enjoy ur weather.. Very nice feeling.. Different from sitting in a coffee shop with the goal of 'finishing ur food'.

wat a day

What a day! Can't tell whether it's a good day or a bad day...

Had lecture today... The lecture was good.. So was the lecturer! Or should I say.. The lecturer was good looking... Super good looking!!!! Help.... was highly distracted by looking at him for the first 1 hour.. Not so bad after that cause got used to it... So shuai so shuai... Good looks. Good build. Good sense of dressing. Long sleeve shirt, sleeves rolled up, low jeans, thick belt, shirt tucked in casually. Semi-casual but suave look... simply DASHING!!!! It's not my first module with him. Knew he was good looking already.. But dunno why he's super good looking today!!!

Before you think that I am some big buayee or guy crazy... I'm not! I belong to the majority... hahaha... At the end of the 1st hour, there was a break. Went to coop with 1 gal and 2 guys. Outside the class, the gal commented 'I was so distracted by him!' Hey! I wasn't the only one!! hahaha.... After class, another gal commented 'I couldn't take my eyes off him.' Hahaha!! I really wasn't the only one!! muahahaha..... Not my fault, not my fault..

Now I know what it means by teacher crush.. So good lookingggggggg...... Dunno if that's good or bad.. Got to pay attention to class.. Luckily he won't be talking for many lectures cause got student presentations..

Other than the cheem stuff i'm gonna learn... I think I'm gonna like Wednesdays...

Put an end to this dangerous JC 'game'

"I AM a parent of a boy studying in a premier junior college in the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio area. Recently, it has come to my attention that rowdy behaviour is threatening to compromise the safety of the students.
According to my son, the violent act is dubbed 'taupok', a reference to a highly compressible piece of brown beancurd. A student would shout 'taupok' and other students would pounce on the targeted person, drag him down forcefully and climb on top of him. Due to peer pressure, more and more students would join in until the stack of bodies is about a metre high.
This violent act is supposedly done in the name of fun but, as a parent, I feel that it is potentially dangerous and even life-threatening.
Furthermore, the 'taupoking' is not a rare occurrence. It can happen up to five times a day, anywhere and to any person.
During the orientation programme for Year One students, even a person standing on the stage during a performance could get 'taupoked'.
Supposing that an average person weighs 60kg, a typical group of 15 would weigh almost a tonne. Just as a person cannot survive without air for three minutes, I am very sure that the human backbone cannot bear the sheer weight of a thousand kilograms.
What happens if the victim's spine breaks? Or if he sustains any other injuries? Who will bear the consequences?
Fortunately, my son has not been a victim of 'taupoking' yet, but he still feels rather uncomfortable about this dangerous act. Also, he feels obliged to join in due to peer pressure, as everyone else is doing it.
Some would say that 'taupoking' is perfectly safe if one assumes the correct position, with one's elbows and forearms touching the floor so as to support the weight, like in rugby. However, not everyone knows the correct position to take, and when surprised one might also forget to assume that position.
I write this letter in the sincere hope of preventing a tragedy. Hopefully, we can keep 'taupok' where it belongs - in that delicious bowl of noodles."

hy brought my attention to this forum article today... Was laughing when I read it.. Maybe it's true that someone's back might break.. But maybe his son should go try being taupok.. It ain't as bad as it looks... Even gals occassionally get taupoked.. From experience, the 2nd one gets it more bad.. And usually the 2nd one will support some weight, so it ain't as bad...

Well well... dunno wat to say to that parent.. Don't only go into a premier junior college to study.. And please do ur maths!!! It sounds ridiculous to have a taupok with 15 person.. Can the parent please go estimate how high a pile of 15 person would be? I'm sure he hasn't seen a taupok before. A taupok with 5 or 6 pple is already quite high. High enough to deter other pple from joining in cause you can't exactly pile yourself on top. A pile of 15 pple is ridiculously high lah.. With a taupok of 8 pple liao ah, the rest would practically have to climb on tables to pile on.. Pretty ridiculous scene ah... And even if the bottom person doesn't scream to get off, the middle pple would...

Maybe if his son's jc students start having activities like stripping his clothes off on his birthday, the parent would have something to write again! And dear parent, beware!!!

Make sure ur son's not of high profile! Make sure ur son don't have active friends! Make sure your son doesn't join any sports team or have friends in rugby or soccer team! Cause as an ex-student of that possible premier junior college in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio, on ur son's bday, he'll most probably hear..

TAUPOK!!!!!

ren ci charity

charity shows? it's a love-hate relationship.. I love to watch some of the charity shows.. It displays a lot of creativity... I love patterns and new stuff to watch.. I hate some "fake" expressions on pple.. I hate stunts that are highly dangerous.... I hate watching those 'real-life' video clips of pple who get money from the charity organization... Always makes me tear...

So far.. I think I like Ren Ci's best... So far, they haven't gone overboard much on their stunts.. And I have greatest respects for the Ming Yi. He's the head of Ren Ci. I remember reading that he was from RI. But somehow, he gave up his bright future to become a monk and devote his life to helping pple....

Liked a few events this year.. Some climbing of the wall to make patterns.. Looks safe but nice.. Liked the one where 2 guys got to do car stunts related to parking in a certain space... Admired Kym Ng that she could stay upside down for so long. And super amused by 2 guys who were supposed to do 2000 push-ups by themselves.. But Richie Ren volunteered to do some push-ups to add to the count. If that line by Richie wasn't rehearsed but real, I really admire him for having this thought.. Think he did abt 2 sets of 100 push-ups. And really nice to see some audience in Suntec volunteering to come up and do some too...

But I always wonder.. Who actually watches charity shows nowadays?? And who are the ones who actually donate? I admit.. I don't watch all charity shows.. Mainly NKF, President's start charity and renci.. The rest depends sometimes.. Usually, parents would call in a bit... But who else donates? Buddhist? Christians? Rich? Poor? Dunno why, but I always have the impression that usually the middle class donates.. Poor pple quite tough cause they dun have enuf money themselves.. The rich... Rich pple I know don't have the habit of watching tv, let alone charity shows, so how would they even know that there's this time to donate.. Another reason? Middle class can understand how it is to have a lack of money, financial problems if they have any illness. The rich won't understand how it is to be poor, unless they built their empire from poor and they haven't forgotten wat poor is like...

wow.. just went for my first job interview.. scary beforehand. Not that scary during it. Just had to open up and attempt to talk.. I think the hardest thing to do is to attempt to think in front of them.. Can't think.. Can't crap.. Not easy...

But of course it's still scary.. Lots of thoughts going thru ur head during the interview. "Interviewers know everything." "Interviewers can look thru me." "I can't hide." "Help!!"

feels good

hee.. today meet frens whom i seldom meet again... good good...

went to lau pa sat.. Did a good deed by helping an angmoh order his food properly. He can speak a few words of chinese to order but not gd enough. Then dunno why he don't wanna order in full English. Cause auntie seems to be able to understand and converse in simple English. His order also quite confusing for the auntie lah... Goes something like that
Angmoh: One plate Fried Kway Teow. $5
...
Angmoh: Prawns how much?
Auntie: $2. 4 prawn 2 dollars
Angmoh: Ok, I want prawns
Auntie: So altogether $7
Angmoh: No. I want $6 prawns
Auntie: So $6 prawns with fried kway teow $5. Total $11? (auntie totally blur. Who orders 6 bucks prawns with fried kway teow)
Angmoh: no. $6 prawns. $5 fried kway teow
....
Couldn't tahan liao.. Decided to step in. So he wanted $5 fried kway teow one plate. Then a plate of prawns only $6. Confusing rite? First time I hear pple buy one plate of prawns from char kway teow stall.. Perhaps the first time that auntie got this kind of order...

Well, feels good to help! And feels good to be bilingual...

Smart women stay single

Ok.. An article I read on Straits Times..

LONDON - A HIGH IQ is a hindrance for women wanting to get married but it is an asset for men, a study by four British universities has found.

The study, published in The Sunday Times, found that the likelihood of marriage increased by 35 per cent for boys for each 16-point rise in IQ.

But the same translated to a 40 per cent drop in the likelihood of marriage for girls.

The survey was done by the universities of Aberdeen, Bristol, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

For the study, based on 900 men and women, researchers measured their IQ at the age of 11 then revisited them 40 years later to find out whether they had ever married.

Researchers found that the schoolgirls with high IQs later witnessed a dramatic decline in their marriage prospects.

But the brighter schoolboys found it easier to find a bride.

'Women in their late 30s who have gone for careers after the first flush of university and who are among the brightest of their generation are finding that men are just not interesting enough,' psychologist and professor at Nottingham University Paul Brown said.

Writer Claire Rayner said intelligent men often preferred a less brainy partner.

'A chap with a high IQ is going to get a demanding job... In many ways he wants a woman who is an old-fashioned wife and looks after the home.' -- AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE

Anyway.. point being... THAT'S SO SAD!! Does it mean that if i wanna get married, I have to be stupider? SIGHZ.... Now, I got to weigh the pros and cons... Can I be slightly stupider but still smart enough? Hahahaha.. Get the best of two worlds.. Galz, don't you feel sad..

And guys.. Are you finding a women who is an old-fashioned wife and looks after the home???

cold but satisfied

It's so cold nowadays... brrr.... I can't even have a proper bath when I reach home.. Warm water doesn't last very long for a family, especially when the weather is so cold..

Satisfied... After so many years of walking past this Jap restaurant in Bugis, I finally went inside and tried the food with my family. From Ajisen, you walk towards the past restaurant opposite then walk further behind... Anyway, a promotional set meal is only 9++.. And yummy! Can compare with Esplanade food liao and it's cheaper.. Just that Esplanade got salmon sashimi in the set meal as well.. I love the beef dipped in egg.. *slurp* Maybe next time can try their sashimi, IF there's still the 50% offer.. If not the normal price is 5 piece of tuna for 20 bucks? Tuna belly is 50 bucks....

I'm not that rich...

New Year

It's another year...

Thinking back.. I have changed.. hopefully for the better.. Realized that I'm more resilient that I thought I might be..

Dunno what my new year resolution might be.. Don't really have a strong one. Just hope that it'll be a great and happy year!

Part 2

Ok.. I paused for lunch after part 1. Always to recall what I wanted to write for these few days... Now, i'm filled with char siew rice and gizzards.. Happy and satisfied. Think I can continue writing liao...

Johor Bahru:
Went to JB with my family on 30th. Decided to drive in after many years.. Since we drove in, we went to our favourite beef noodles shop.. It's very different from those in Singapore. Ever since I can remember, I have been eating at that shop. Now, the soup still tastes as good as ever, but the beefballs not as perfect... Anyway, that's not the point.. The point is, when we went back to the car, these 2 guys sitting around the carpark stood at my dad's door, so he couldn't close the door. Then they tried to extort money. One said he got AIDS and wanted money to go for treatment.. If you don't give, he threatens to poke you with a needle. They didn't accept 10 ringgit. The guy even said in chinese, 'i don't want 10 ringgit from you'. Quite an idiot.. At the end, we gave them 50 ringgit. Super glad it's only 50 ringgit. Even though that's quite a lot of money, just be glad it's not 500 or something

After that, my mom went to tell the beef noodle shop owner, asking where's the police. But the person also told my mom that it happens in JB and they don't only extort money from singapoeans. Malaysians also get that.. And the police don't help much... So there.. Didn't report at the end.. Just in case police need bribes as well..

Well, it's not the first time u hear horror stories about JB.. So be careful if you're going.. I doubt my family would be going there anytime soon.. And definitely not driving in...

Tsunami:
Didn't really pay attention to it when reports were on Sunday. Think cause i was out and didn't get to watch news or read papers. Then monday and tuesday, i was at camp. When I finally got to know more details about it, and watching the tv reports, tears just filled my eyes.. It's really really a saddening event. Looking at the mud all over, at pple clinging onto coocnut trees with all their strength, dead bodies all over, debris, bodies being burnt or buried, pple crying, etc etc... It's going to be one hard thing to go past.. In my opinion, even worse than Sars. Eveyone was just scared about sars, with much less pple dying.. But now, lots of casualities, missing pple dead or alive? Got to cure diseases, pass pple food and water, give money to rebuild....

Just hope that everything will be fine asap.. Hope that lots of missing pple are still actually alive...

Channel U:
Didn't go for countdown yesterday. Just sat in front of the TV watching channel u. There was a special programme, showing flashbacks of the past 4 years of Channel U. Then at 10pm, there was an hour long news. This time, 2 were reporting the news, and a lot of special reports were done by 2 reporters instead of one, featuring every reporter they have.. Was really quite sad to know that it's really the end of Channel U under mediaworks. Although, there'll still be Channel U, it'll never be the same again.. The pple will be mixed around. Speaking as a fan of Channel U, their shows are really good.. Especially their variety shows.. Very creativity, new, energetic! Although you always see the same few hosts cause they only have that many, you don't really mind.. They're really funny and cheer u up with gd humour.. On the other hand, I can't really stand Jack Neo's group with their humour..

I really hope that the creativity and innovation will continue.. And special thanks to those who made Channel U and I so wonderful!!!

Part 1

ok.. i got lots to write.. wanted to blog since a few days ago, but I haven't been coming home late, didn't get the chance to get the comp or doing other stuff on my comp like trying to fix my timetable

ABSOLUT:
Another absolut has passed.. quite pleased with this year's absolut even though I was there for 2 days only... Saw innovations and the clear objective.. Good job guys!! Went through some feedback and was quite, or shld i say very amused.. The question was, 'Which event had the least impact on you?' and the answers i saw was 'Icebreakers'. Some reasons? Because people have warm up to the camp during ice breakers.. *grin* If anyone here reading this blog doesn't know that icebreakers are meant to warm pple up, please know that from now on...

RJC:
Went to the RJC moving. Didn't get the chance to take the special mrt train from Buona Vista to Bishan because it's only for staff and the J1s. The entire cohort on the train.. Not much space left. Anyway, I went with 3 of my other gd frens to go be kaypoh and see the new school, see our teachers and perhaps, the last time we'll be going back to RJC for a longgggggg timeeee. There ain't any more reason for us to go to the new RJC compound to visit the school. Everything has changed. The tables and chairs won't trigger any more happy memories...

The compound is huge!! So much bigger than the old one.. Didn't get to explore much. Went into LT1 and it's huge.. It has the same feeling as a new huge NUS LT though.. No old familiar family feeling.. No loosely screwed table tops that drops back down here and there, with loud noise of pens and books falling all over.. Oh yes, and the new compound has lifts, swimming pool and dunno wat... Lots of new stuff.. But it's so huge, so perhaps they'll have arts pple on one side and science pple on one side.. The probability of meeting another RJC person and remembering that the person exists is gonna be much smaller than previous times

Saw my sec sch vp, history, bio and english teacher.. Dunno why but I only have gd impression of history teacher. Maybe cause she didn't really give up on me.. Yes, i had to go for extra history classes cause i'm always on the borderline for tests.. English, I can't remember why bad impression.. Think it's cause I'm not exactly gd with english, so can't get along.. Bio, cause it was boring and when my prelim got pushed up from B3 to A1 or A2, she said something like 'So june, lucky to get A now after moderation ah..' Something like that lah.. Those sarcastic kind of line.. Still remember it.. Who says I can't get A1 in biology! Might have chosen triple sci in JC if biology was made more interesting..

Hanged around in Junction 8 after that.. One left to go work. Was waiting for movie to start, 3 of us were boh liao.. my fren made a keychain and I made this
.
You know when you're a kid, you buy this black outline, then you'll squeeze coloured liquids inside, put it in an oven, and it'll become this piece of thingy.. That's what it is.. We sat in chairs meant for kids and did our art work.. We were the only grown up customers around.. hahahaha... Anyway, to show that it's a grown up piece of work, notice the purple and red portions.. There is slight marbled effect.. It only cost $4.50! Cheap and entertaining..

Relatives:
Recently, the difference between my maternal and paternal side has been highlighted to me. Went to a xmas party at my maternal's side. Actually it's my grandaunt's side with the aunties, uncles and cousins. Relatively distant relatives, but got invited cause we stayed in the same area. Was talking to 2 aunts after dinner and they were telling me to not rush things, take my time and find a bf. It's fate... (I agree anyway.. Can't anyhow pick a guy from the street). I think my maternal side all taking time also.. Among my direct cousins, I'm the 5th oldest.. In the middle top. But no one is married yet..

Over my paternal side, I just got the news that my cousin is getting married in Jan.. Must be asking me, so what? Well, he's 2 years younger than me.. His wife is 1 yr younger than him. If you can't count, that's 20 and 19.. Don't bother asking me why cause I'm sure you can guess. But they're happy! my cousin's happy, his parents are happy. My aunts are happy.. My family is err... bochup. I don't exactly like the idea of marrying early cause they haven't really seen the world. Lots of regrets when they get exposed to more things and more pple while you're tied down to family. But, I guess it runs in my paternal side. I already had 2 female cousins marrying at 20. One shotgun, one not..

Anyway, all i'll think of now is shark's fins!! I hope they order shark's fins.. And it'd better be good...
