Sushi 2

I think my memory is quite bad. Can't finish one entry at one go.. Keep missing out on stuff...

I learnt how to make caifornia roll too.. So lovely. Think it's one of my favourite. Especially when the seaweed is crispy and nice...

Got a free apron, bamboo roll, vinegar, etc.. The most important is a 2kg bag of japanese TOP PREMIUM rice. I also didn't know what's the big deal about top premium.
- Relatively good thai rice. 5 kg abt $9
- Normal jap rice in supermarkets. 2.5kg abt $9
- Top premium rice. Retail price 2kg abt $22

ex rite? must put it to full use. cannot waste any grain

Sushi

I went for sushi-making class on sat! Have to say that although it ain't super cheap ($49), it was quite worth the money for me. Had fun....

Learnt how to prepare the sushi rice. In theory though.. Learnt how to cut a cucumber. The sushi way. Must learn ok...

Had fun rolling my own cucumber roll. Two to be exact. As we prepare, we eat... Cut the sushi into nice pieces. Put on ur plate. And eat! hee.... Had a bento box to put sushi we couldn't finish anyway. Then learnt how to do inside-out roll. And then a big big roll..

Fun to go with friends. You get to laugh at each other when their hands have rice all over. Or when sushi ain't rolled well...

Should go for more classes like this!!

Convocation

Ok.. my overdue post.. Shall type while I'm uploading my convo photos... A bit sleepy though..

Convocation.. Was a little nervous and excited at the same time. It marked the end of my bachelors. The end of my education life for now (dunno if it's the end end). Didn't know how the whole process would be. Scared I trip and fall on the stage. Will be so paiseh....

Excited cause I'll see lots of familiar faces again! Haven't seen my classmates for more than 2 months.

So convo day was so busy.. At home grabbing all kinds of things. My family was so busy. All busy dressing up. I put makeup to look slightly more presentable. Take grad gown. Take camera. Take extra battery and memory cards. Take tripod. Take covered shoes while wearing a more comfortable pair. Take this take that... Finally leave the house...

Reached NUS super early. Ceremony starts at 3. Seating starts at 2+. We reached at 1pm. Why?? Kiasu lah! I wanted to go earlier and take some photos first cause the place will be very empty. Was the first in the robing room.. Wear gown with safety pins behind to make it look slimmer. Safety pins to hold the sash on my gown. One safety pin in front so that the gown doesn't keep unbuckling. Hairpins to hold my mortar board to my hair... haii... such a big affair ah!!!!

Convo was quite ok. Actually, I didn't really pay much attention to the beginning speeches. Hee... Was a little stoned plus occassional whispering with my fren beside.. Very quickly, we were shuffled to go line up to go up stage. Before entering the corridor, there were a few pple looking at ur gown, helping u to adjust it straight. At the end of the corridor before the stage, another few pple doing final adjustments. And there I went. Up the stage. Slowly up the stairs, stand on the cross, go up, shake hand, take the round thing, attempt to find stage camera and smile, then go down...

I seriously think the most fun part of convo is after that.. I called for all psy honours pple to gather right after the convo. We were the first to leave the hall. All gathered for class photos. Ok, not all. I didn't have everyone in the photo, but the photo would definitely bring back lots of memories next time. Went around take photos with lecturers, with fren alone, with groups.

So that's about it I guess.. 170 photos. A camera that doesn't work. And many photos to come when ndp is over. Shall go raid esplanade area

Bus

Haii... So irritating. Was at orchard tonight. Wanted to take straight bus home. Was at the busstop from 10.20 to 10.50 waiting for bus!!!! Argh!! Total of 5 buses totally full went past the busstop.. Couldn't get on any. Almost wanted to ask a few other irritated pple at the bus stop whether they wanted to share cab to the terminal. Luckily the next bus got space...

So I got on the bus. And the doorbell doesn't work!! At the next stop, 2 ang mohs were shouting from behind to open the door. The 'door stopping' sign doesn't work either... So interesting ah...

I'm back!

I'M BACK!!! Feel so good to have my good old computer back.. For those who didn't know, my comp was spoilt last week. It didn't boot. Just had some stupid beeping sound.. Had the help of 2 diff frens. Some power switch thingy was spoilt. So now, I'm back!!!

Anyway, it was highly irritating. I went for convo. Came back with lots of photos I wanted to upload and lots of things I wanted to blog about. Switch on comp. *beep beep beep* Argh!! My comp don't work!!!

After a few tries, I gave up. So I wanted to see my photos in the camera again. Switch on the camera. *beep beep beep* What the heck! even my camera is beeping!! Changed batteries and memory card. Still the same. Repairman said it's the power switch. Darn.. why power switch again.. So now my camera is still down. Dunno where got cheap repair if not I have to buy a new one...

I think the aliens are coming... Magnetic field interferring my electrical appliances..

Last day

Last day as student.... boohoohooo....

Did a full dress rehearsal just now... Haii. So ma fan... gown so heavy. hooks in front keep coming out cause the gown is too wide. Pin here pin there.....

Hope tml weather good... I cannot tahan taking photo in hot sun... will melt and turn into a puddle

And on my last day, I did my first OT. Didn't take my private bus back cause must stay back a while to finish my work.... ah well...

Ate buffet again today.. Gonna get fat liao!!! 2 months of working and 4-5 buffets with colleagues

spa

Yesterday was spa day!

Had a couple of vouchers so just used it all yest...

Full body spa... Start with a full body scrub, then shower off, then aromatherapy massage....
So nice and comfy... Feels good after that... And clean too... =)

Ear candling... Comes together with a foot scrub, head, neck and shoulder massage
Also so comfy! Always got shoulder and neck aches... And the gal got strength!

Haii.. not enuf money to go for anymore... Package with spa and facial sessions for 50 bucks each... *shake head*

new

it's time for a new entry in my blog.. Been a little lazy since I started work. One problem is because I reach home at 6+pm. I'll hang around, watch tv, then eat dinner, watch tv. If I come on internet, I feel more like doing my own stuff than blog. And I sleep at 10+. Not much time on internet anyway...

anyway things are settling down a little more. My project that I'm supposed to be assessed by, well after looking at data, realized that the topic is not really possible. So got to find new topic.

Made the editor of a newsletter that my office hopes to publish and send to other pple... Just chaired my first proper meeting today to discuss some details before writing a proposal... Not as scary as I expected it to be.. Hopefully everything goes fine cause it'll be one of my main probation projects....

This week's quite fun. Got visitors in my office. First two days, got someone nearby for course. Tues, got another to join for lunch. Tml, shld have another one.. So fun! Makes my office more lively

If anyone sees any nice fake flower, tell me. I just bought a vase from Ikea. Hope to put a flower in my office. But for hygiene, dengue fever and wat not reasons, i guess i'll have a fake one most of the time.... Until someone or i buy a real one once in a while

It's an unearthly hour at 6.30am and I'm typing an entry for my blog. Usually at this time on a weekday, I am eating my breakfast and getting ready to go catch my bus.

But!! Today I'm not going to work! Yay!! Hooray! Why? Cause I'm on mc.. Ok. Nothing much to be happy about. But I get to stay home... =) I foresee one lazy day....

Good night at 6.35am! I'm going back to sleep. Woke up to eat my medicine(s), in total 7 pills. *bleahz* And sms my colleagues that I'm not going, and call my bus driver.

So sad... my dept gathering today to play games and eat dim sum buffet for lunch. arghz!!
