ah well.. another post about shopping... Went to jb with 2 gals yesterday. So happy!! We finally went overseas together!! Although not very far, but we finally did it. We have been talking about going overseas for years and finally we managed a JB... A small step better than nothing

Went there to eat and shop.. What else can you do there? And there's a sale there too!! utterly crazy... Went shopping for cheap stuff. Got myself 2 tops and one skirt.. Cheap cheap.. The skirt is the most ex of the lot, and only 15 bucks. Compare it to those 30+ and more skirts in singapore.. muahahaha...

Of course, go jb must eat lah... 3 pple eat lunch , dinner. With extra indulgence like mac ice cream cone, ice cream sundae, cheese cake and chocolate banana cake. Hope the shopping burnt the fat.. heehee

Now now, to answer gaozi's qn... how come so much shopping ah?

Well, lots of answers to that qn..

1) Firstly, main one is cause I start work! Last time in sch, can anyhow wear. Always seen in tshirts and 3/4s. So now start work, cannot wear tshirt but very very little office wear. So got to buy clothes lor! Most of the clothes i've bought are for work... Tops, bottoms, shoes (except 2 of the recent 3 pairs)

2) Got buying power liao mah.. Got money.. just that my money now comes from loan from mom. Returning soon.....

3) must start to look prettier liao.. Or at least more presentable... I realize that I like to have different priorities for different stages in my life. When I was little, my priority was study. So I very guai and dun really talk to pple. Then I grew older and decided that I needed to make full use of my life. Then I joined ecas, made lots of frens, join activities, got involved. All until uni, it's study and play... Now, I guess it should be work.. And if fate comes, then dating lor... If dun have then dun have lor.. bo bian... But now it's to live my life to the fullest outside school!! Occassionally looking pretty will make one feel good.. hahahaha. But I still like my tshirts... =P

Ah well... who can resist a sale!! Normal days, a pair of heels cost at least 20+ to 40+. And when shoes come at 10+, grab while there is!! Then don't need to buy so much after that liao. I hope

Sale - Day 1

Oh boy... I'm damn shagged... Went out with mom and I have used a hell lot of energy

Went out in the morning. Got an email from my cousin about 'The Shoe Box' sale. Never heard of 'The Shoe Box' but I saw the catalogue. The shoes look not bad lah... It was supposed to start at 11am. We reached early, at about 10.45am. Wow! Already got a queue outside the convention hall waiting to go in. Joined the queue... At least 50 pple in front of me liao...

11am! The queue going in... Once in, the counters are totally hidden by pple!!! Have you ever seen at least 100 ladies fighting and squeezing and pushing for shoes?? Just go imagine... Insane ah!!!! I couldn't really see wat shoes there were at the table. Just happened to be lucky and there was a hole at a counter. Stood there. Just grab one sample of shoe and desperately try to get the person's attention to get the correct size. Not an easy task when u have 10 other ladies doing the same thing... It's really an interesting sight when u see some lady at the counter coming out of the crowd with a heap of 5-10 pairs of shoes... Everyone does about the same. Get the size of watever design u want, go out of the crowd and try. Then u pick and eliminate from there

So I took a couple of shoes. Went to try. Actually, most of the shoes i tried were already left on the floor by people who didn't want them.... Suddenly thought of the perfect scenario... Think of some poor country with lots of hungry people. Shoe counters are like a truck with ration. Then ration gets thrown around the floor and people are searching thru the piles... Never knew I could do such a thing. Don't plan to do this very often. Really really very tiring ah......

My trophies from one long day

So after the shoe shopping, went to shop in Bugis. Just anyhow took a few skirts to try for fun. Went into the fitting room. Guess what! Was about to try my skirts when I saw something on the floor

10 bucks!!!! So well, some kind soul helped to sponsor part of my shopping (involuntarily of course). Didn't buy the skirts in the end. Got a jacket instead

Fri out!

I was working on Friday.. Working real hard with my colleagues. We ran around, had a good lunch and had to project our voices.... Are you having a lot of ??? in ur head now? Hee....

Fri was dept anniversary. So it meant everyone is out celebrating for the day with watever activities planned.

1) Amazing race in the morning. Find the place in the photo and take a photo there. Had fun. Got to interact with some colleagues I never really got to talk to
2) Rice Table Buffet Lunch. Now i know who can eat a lot and who can't. Among the whole stretch of table, one end didn't order much, the other end was noisy and forever ordering dishes!! I'm in the middle
3) Karaoke. I was the person in charge to find songs to sing. Why? Cause most of my colleagues are much older and the last time they sang ktv was with the song books. So, they dunno how to operate the computer very quickly. I just volunteered myself to be stuck with the remote control, sat in front of the screen. Anyone who thought of a song they wanna sing can just tell me the song title and maybe singer, and I'll find it for them... Well, at least in this way, I made friends too. Especially with the aunties.. hahaha... Only after 2+ hrs, then I sang my first song. But there were less people cause some left liao... And I got applause for my song.. *blush* hahaha... Actually in my branch, most pple can most or less sing and like singing. So ah, now colleagues are saying that to enter my branch, one criteria is to be able to sing. =P

Went to watch star wars at night. Oh well, I dun really know the plot at all.. Didn't know what I should expect, so i guess the movie is fine. But I realize something. I dun really like fighting shows. Dun like it when pple kill each other. I think I prefer more light hearted and funny shows. At least I won't cringe at killing scenes

The price of growing up

So what's the price of growing up? You got to work. You got to make your own decisions. You need to budget your money...

But no, I'm not talking about this kind of price. I"m talking about price, as in money. $$$

Previously when I was in school, I only buy about 2-3 pairs of shoes each year. Some t-shirts occasionally, unless it's chinese new year time... Now different liao....

Anyway, just in the month of May, I have bought
1 skirt
2 pants
4 pairs of shoes
12 tops
(numbers accurate if I remember correctly)

All in the name of work!!! But really wat... What to do... I only got a few skirts and 2 pants to start with. So, I need working clothes. And heels to go with them....

Hai... lots of bills to settle.. And May hasn't ended... =(

Proper work

Sobz.. Today is my last day of induction programme for my dept... So it means proper work from now on.. No more honeymoon... =(

I'm starting to join this group of ladies for lunch.. They are very nice to always invite me. And today we ordered canadian pizza... So fun! Just sitting in a meeting room and eating. But I didn't eat much. Had something at 10am, so wasn't that hungry...

And aiyah.. I realized that shuai ge not in my dept. He's in my division. So, I won't see him on friday.. Darn! Will only see when I go over to his office... damn damn damn....

1. i finally got my computer access liao... can start learning stuff on the comp. Was just doing reading for the past few days... Now i got to read more.. Hmm... dunno if that's good or bad

2. Finally!!! I saw a shuai ge!!! hahaha... But working in totally diff place leh.. Might see occassionally next time, but quite rare also lah.... Ah wellll...... If u wanna know, he's tall and not bad looking. Dun whack me.. I'm not guy crazy. It's just that after I have decided that I won't see any gd quality guys, suddenly a not bad one appears to shock me a little.... I'll be normal liao...

4th day

End of 4th day!!! Morning quite slow... Some briefings again, but most of the time just sit at my table and read and read and read.... Dozing off a little. Partly cause I'm down with flu. Got flu from sat onwards. So head will be a little blur if u not doing anything much...

Afternoon went super fast!! muahaha... Also briefings lah.. But it took almost the entire afternoon, so time goes super fast! Plus a tea break with red bean soup.. muahaha.... I think my dept will grow fat soon!! From last week onwards, our dept has pple going for internal courses. And the course are held only one storey above. A course has morning and afternoon tea provided. So wat happens is that those pple from our dept at the course will sms over in the afternoon. Then some pple will go upstairs and take the leftover food because there'll be lots leftover anyway!!! Had cake and green bean soup last week. Had red bean soup today... Got at least 2 more days.. muahaha...

Today is friendship day!! Starting to make friends other than just asking qns and learning.. Went for lunch with some of my colleagues. Didn't talk much. But after that, got offered my red bean soup, stand around chit chat and offered some tidbits. Got to make more friends and on a deeper level.

If anyone dare to say why i 4th day then make friends, whack u ah! You think very easy meh! Go into a new place not knowing anyone. Everyone knows stuff that u dun. Unlike school, everyone comes into as a newcomer and goes for orientation. But now, you are the only newcomer and the 'blur' one. Everyone has their groups and you got to try to squeeze into one... Dunno if i'll succeed.. Try lah.. Dunno if des has it worse than me.. But des got mel rite?? hee.. Just that his workplace sounds very empty all the time.. hahaha

Very happy that I got my chartered bus.. Cause I get to rest and just shut my eyes for a few mins. So far, I haven't been able to fall asleep in the bus unlike others.. Maybe when I work for a longer time, I'll be more tired and the bus will be a good time to rest. Bus is good. You take a very short time to travel. Don't get tired from waiting for transport, trying to squeeze with others into the train...

If anyone is actually interested, I saw more guys today when I went for canteen for lunch. But, not much of concern cause I'm more interested in my food and eating it fast enuf to make sure pple dun wait for me.

It's friday!!!! yay!! Everyone is happy on fridays... If u dare to ask why... cause it's weekend tomorrow ah!! And on fridays, we end 1/2 hr earlier!

3rd day liao... Workload piling. Being fed with more and more information.

Ah well, boss says take ur time and read... But i dun think I can really take my time lah.. Try try... But I learnt more stuff today... Not easy putting hard info into things I know at my fingertips... Take time take time...

2nd day

woke up early again... but abt 15 mins later than yesterday. Why? Cause I got a school bus!! Ok, call it a work bus or chartered bus or watever u wanna call it. It only takes half hour to go to work from my house!! Compared to 1.5 hours of bus, mrt and bus, it's wonderful!!! Well, I got to pay but dun care. About the same money. And for the time and the seat... WONDERFUL!! muahaha...

Still learning lah... Every job also must learn... Then learn company stuff.. But go every company also must learn. Nothing super abnormal...

Oh yes! Had a welcome lunch for me. Went out with colleagues for lunch and my superior treat... So nice eh... Not bad. I learnt a new eating place...

Peace alone

Went out alone this afternoon. Went to orchard. Was only planning to meet pple for dinner.

So, I went shopping for a while. Went to orchard library and spent 1-2 hours sitting in kinokuniya reading 'Ghost Girl' by Torey Hayden. I already have 2 of her books. She's a psychologist or specialist in dealing with kids with certain problems. Each book focuses on one of her students. Quite comfortable. Been a long time since I sat around and concentrated on a book.

But quite irritated by library. Dunno how to find book and so hard to find book. Then I picked a few books to read but I didn't like. Wanted to leave it in the trolley for the person to keep. And that woman ask me to put it back myself. Although her words are polite with the 'please' and 'if it's not too much trouble', but the tone is not. Hmpf....

Supposed to be alone. Bumped into a fren with gf. Didn't know he attached but not surprising lah.. I haven't seen him for quite long. Of course I won't know lah.. hahaha.. Then later, i bumped into my cousin with her bf. And then later, I went to find 2 other frens who came to orchard. And then, I went to find 2 frens whom i arranged to meet for dinner

So, I guess it wasn't that lonely after all...

Lucky

Well, although I'm sian, I should just post on my blog. Wanted to do it 1 or 2 weeks ago, but it was exam time...

I guess I'm lucky... I'm never the luckiest person. I dun have loads of luck.. But lady luck will shine on me a little to be fortunate.

Uni, well it wasn't my top choice. Wanted to go overseas but results not gd enough for scholarship. But in the end, everything still went relatively well. Major is interesting. Results not great but ok lah. Nice frens, nice pple and some nice lecturers
Uni degree.. still dunno wat I'll get but ok lah.. At least I survived till honours. Seriously, when I look back, i think it's quite a feat for me. Some pple will give me the look that says "u from rgs, rjc. Expected to get honours ah. Nothing special." But I hated essays last time!! I'll make funny faces and run away from essays. Hated english. Hated lit. Hated GP. Couldn't make it... But now, I survived. I learnt to do my essays.. Not the best but ok lah.... Grades aren't the best. Not that lucky but lucky enuf

Career. Well it's starting soon. For those who dunno yet, I'm starting on wed. Can ask me privately about job. Shall not post it. I find myself lucky again. I got an offer before exams and I'm starting work soon after my hols started. (Only started telling pple after I confirmed the job) Anyway, I'm not the luckiest. I don't get my supposedly top choice, which shld be psychologist or my high paying 2800 job.. hahaha... Got rejected twice by those.. But I found myself a job. Market rate I guess... Always aimed to work in one of those organizations since I was young. And I got one! The job currently sounds interesting and I shld be able to put my stats to use.

So I guess, I'm a little lucky. And happy

My last 2 days of freedom and I'm bored.... sianz.... Well, I had lots of fun since the end of my exams. Shopping, walking, eating, going geylang for supper, blah blah blah...

But now, I only have 2 more days!! Tml morning I'm going dentist and meet my mum for lunch. So sian that I dunno wat I wanna do tml afternoon....

Well, I hate to say this but... It's really easy to spend money!!! Let's see.. I took my parents' credit card out 3 times today... Signed over a hundred bucks for 4 tops....

My mom quite pleased that I could find stuff. She was asking 'how you find all these tops? How come last time don't have?'

All I can say is... Desperate times call for desperate measures

We'll continue the next few days!!

Proper hols

Wat can I say? Of course must be fun lah...

Pampered myself at the salon yesterday... Today go KTV and mini shopping. Within 1 hour, I bought 2 tops and 1 skirt... It felt very weird when I was gonna spend the money.. Just not me to spend so much money in a short time. I prefer to look around shops for a few days or weeks before I pick wat I want, and then I buy... (If you think I'm some crazy shopaholic who can buy and spend with ease, please know me better)

I'll continue my shopping tomorrow!! Just got to have a basic wardrobe of working clothes first.. At least next time I can start work with more ease... After that, then I can slowly buy and increase the numbers.. What to do.... My cupboard so many tshirts.. So little working stuff...

Why? Cause insects have been bullying me lately!!! Sighz... A few days ago, walked to kitchen sink without switching on lights. Heard the plastic bags in the sink moving. Lizard!!! Luckily I never see... 1 or 2 days later, a bee fly into dining room. Dad caught it. Later, another bee fly into my toilet and refused to budge. Couldn't use the toilet for a few hours. Then yesterday, walked to my kitchen sink with lights on. Lizard ran out to its hiding place.. ARGHZ!!!! I HATE LIZARDS!!

I finished my last 2 papers of my psychology honours degree!! yay!!! All will pass!!! I'll graduate!!! With wat class honours? Dun ask me.. I dun care now...

Went a little crazy.. My fren reminded me to take camera, so took a few photos with lecturers, friends, places... =) will post some photos soon....

Ended with evening paper. Went to holland village to eat. So amazing... First, I saw a guy I know and recognize but first time meeting face to face... Then I saw 5 ex-classmates from sec sch. And lastly, I saw some guy I know since sec3? Shld be sec 2 or sec3 lah... Wow wow wow... What's this? Everyone in holland v?!?

Time to pack up my stuff and start to pamper myself from tomorrow!!
